Starting Blocks

A reason to try yoga? According to some training programs swimming and yoga have been combined and have found to be compatible. The approach concentrates on developing calm strength and intense concentration. Comparisons between swimming and yoga show that both activities stress the same kind of development:

SwimmingYoga Practices
Perfection of strokesPerfection of postures
Breathing techniquesControlled respiration
ConcentrationMeditation

Some swimmers have learned to use the state of complete relaxation between events at swim meets and to apply the focused concentration on their next race.
